News Image
Washington, D.C.-A suspected member of the Zetas accused of being involved in the fatal shooting of ICE agent Jaime Zapata faced a judge Wednesday.

Zapata and his partner were gunned down on a rural highway in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, in February. Investigators arrested six accused Zetas during an army raid the week after the shooting.

They identified Julian Zapata Espinoza as the primary suspect. He's been in jail since. He's known by the nickname "Tweety Bird" because of his height. He was just extradited to the United States.

Zapata Espinoza was arraigned Wednesday on murder and attempted murder charges. He remains behind bars.
